Cosmetically it just has a few scratches here and there as you might expect on a used keyboard along with a small piece cracked out of the bottom of the right end cap. This PC2 is in excellent mechanical and cosmetic condition with everything working exactly as it should. Given everything that has happened to Kurzweil over the last six years, I wouldn't necessarily assume Kurzweil's current operations will have the same problems as in the past.Īt least in my experiences with Kurzweil a few years ago, all of the U.S. Kurzweil also had to lay off alot of employees, given their R&D funding was reduced to a minimum then frozen for at least a year while the Korean courts had a trustee run Young Chang. When the Korean courts disallowed the takeover, Kurzweil had to sue Samick to get their inventory back (Samick refused to give it back). When Young Chang (Kurzweil's parent) was taken over by Samick, Samick took over Kurzweil's spare parts inventory. There were some special circumstances which caused Kurzweil a lot of problems a few years back. I was told by the dealer I normally use that Kurzweil was one of the worst to deal with in terms of getting parts and such. I thought about adding the newer vintage keys rom to my Pc2 but don't feel like waiting a year to get it. I once ordered the super ribbon controller for my PC2 and I waited about 4 months to get it. That is definitely one bad thing about Kurzweil. Add an XK3/C, a VK8.whatever you add, I think you're going to be MORE than pleasantly surprised at PC3. The prospect of taking your waterfall clonewheel and a PC3 is exactly what I'm going to be doing with my band in 2008 - a nord C1 (not great MIDI implementation, but dual manuals, so that makes up for it -) and a PC3X (should be here by end of week!) out on the road.
